Take away a handmade talisman to anchor this new understanding
Led by artist and writer Glennie Kindred
Saturday 18th July, 9.30am - 4pm
Meeting at Shillito Woods car park
Tickets £20 per person, over 16s only
This workshop day will explore our native trees, deepening our understanding of them through folklore, herbal medicine as well as our interactive relationship with trees. Led by author and artist Glennie Kindred this workshop is based on the theory of her latest book of the same title. Using a handcrafted talisman which you can take home, you'll anchor your new understanding of trees.
"The workshop will include a guided walk in the woods to meet some of the native trees, to learn from the trees themselves; to deepen our understanding of their core signature qualities; to explore some of their folklore, myths and legends and to look at how these rich interweavings become part of the herbal and the metaphysical healing qualities of each of the trees.
During the day we will explore a more interactive relationship with the trees by strengthening our awareness of our own deep intuitive and subtle relationship with them so that we move forwards into a more interconnected, inclusive and interactive relationship with the natural world around us. We will then create a talisman or touchwood, to anchor the understanding we have received during our time with the trees.
We will end on a ceremony to give thanks for the trees we have met and for all the trees of the Earth, and to celebrate our new ways forwards."
